Who: The Mount Nelson Hotel.
Why: World renowned hotel and eatery.
The Mount Nelson hotel is one of the most well renowned in Cape Town and when Samsung offered me the opportunity to stay there after one of their launches, I simply couldn’t say no.
I arrived at the hotel and was greeted by the friendliest of concierges who provided the perfect start to an all round great experience at the hotel. The hotel was filled to the brim, with tourists who inquiring about the various packages, locals who were feasting on the infamous Afternoon Tea.
I was staying in the main hotel, while a few others I knew were situated in the Garden Cottage Suites,a row of eight restored, historic cottages, adjacent to the secluded pool.
My room was the Junior Suite. The bedroom had an open-plan lounge area and had a spectacular view of Table Mountain.
It was exquisitely furnished and had a king-sized bed. My en-suite bathroom has a separate shower and bath, neither of which I had the time to try out, but they looked fantastic!
The next morning, after a wonderful and rather interesting event, I made my way to breakfast where a selection of food awaited.
There was a buffet of English breakfast, a range of fruit, bread, croissants and a host of other divine food.
I ended off the morning and my stay with my favourite blend of Origin tea.
All in all it was a fantastic experience, from the friendly staff, great service, amazing rooms and food!
